Invisalign

A smile full of straight, white teeth is your best accessory no matter what your age, but did you know that straightening your teeth has numerous health benefits, as well? That’s why our office offers Invisalign for teens and adults.

The benefits of a straighter smile include:

Healthier gums.

When the teeth are too crowded or too widely spaced apart, the gums can become irritated because they are stretching and compressing in ways they weren’t meant to. This can cause periodontal (gum) disease. When the teeth are aligned, the gums fit snugly around each tooth so bacteria can’t make its way under the gumline.

Less cavities.

If teeth are too crowded and are overlapping each other, it’s nearly impossible to reach all tooth surfaces with a toothbrush. Plaque builds up in these hard-to-reach areas and causes tooth decay. Aligned teeth are not as susceptible to cavities.

Decreased risk of tooth wear.

When teeth are not aligned, the teeth that stick out more take the brunt of the impact when you are chewing and can even rub against the opposing teeth 24/7. These teeth wear down at a much faster rate than those around them, and unfortunately, tooth enamel cannot repair itself. Invisalign eliminates this abnormal wear.

Less headaches.

Your frequent headaches, jaw, or neck pain may be due the extra stress that crooked teeth place on the bones that hold them in place. Straightening the teeth with Invisalign is a long-term solution to this problem.
For the majority of cases, Invisalign is a better solution than traditional wire and bracket braces. The Invisalign trays are virtually invisible, so you will be the only one who knows you’re wearing them. You can also take the aligners out when you eat, so there are no restrictions to what types of food you can have during the course of treatment. This also means the aligners can be removed for brushing and flossing – no meticulously threading your floss under each wire to clean your teeth.

Call our office today for a free Invisalign consultation with Dr. Suher or Dr. Poulson. Before you get started, they will let you know the length and cost of your case and exactly what your teeth will look like at the end of treatment. Don’t forget that our office offers a free take-home whitening kit to every Invisalign patient, and our monthly special in February is $500 off Invisalign (cannot be combined with insurance).
